A cystoscopy lets a urologist see inside the bladder and urethra through a thin scope. It is what settles the cause of blood in the urine, repeated infections, painful or difficult urination: questions a scan alone often cannot answer.
At Lux Hospitals, a cystoscopy costs between ₹10,000 and ₹30,000. Whether it is purely diagnostic or something is treated during the same procedure is the difference between the two ends of that.
A diagnostic cystoscopy is a short look under local anaesthetic: ten to twenty minutes, and home shortly after. An operative one means something is dealt with while the scope is in: a biopsy taken, a stone removed, a stent changed, a stricture dilated.
₹10,000–₹30,000
estimated surgery cost
Looking costs less than doing. If something is treated during the same session (a biopsy, a stone, a stent) the procedure moves into the higher band.
A flexible cystoscopy is comfortable under local anaesthetic. A rigid operative one needs sedation or general anaesthesia, with the theatre time that implies.
Anything suspicious is biopsied and sent to the laboratory. That report is what the whole procedure was for, and it is inside the figure.
A shared ward, a twin-sharing room or a private suite: the largest single swing in most estimates, and the one thing on this list you choose rather than are assigned.
A longer operation spends more theatre time and more of the anaesthetist’s, and a consultant with more years behind the procedure is charged at a higher rate.
Local, spinal or general. Which one your case needs is a clinical decision, not a preference, and it moves both the drug cost and how long you are monitored afterwards.
We are empanelled with most major insurers and file the pre-authorisation for you, so what is left to pay yourself is known before admission rather than at discharge.
Which of these apply to you is settled at the consultation. Until a surgeon has seen you and your reports, any figure (here or anywhere else) is a range rather than your bill.
Get Cost Estimate| Treatment option | Estimated cost at Lux |
|---|---|
| Diagnostic (Flexible) Cystoscopy | ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 |
| Operative (Rigid) Cystoscopy | ₹18,000 – ₹30,000 |
Every figure above is an indicative range, not a quote. After your consultation you are given a written, fixed-cost estimate, and that is the number you pay, with no additions once treatment begins.
The figure quoted to you is what leaving the hospital costs, not what entering it does. Everything below is inside it.
Important: Anything outside this list is told to you before it is done, not billed afterwards. If your case needs something the estimate did not allow for, you are asked first.
Your final bill may change if you need additional tests, a procedure for another condition, a longer hospital stay, extra medicines or follow-up care beyond what your estimate includes.
Ask the billing team which charges are included and which may be added based on your treatment needs.
Most policies cover both diagnostic and operative cystoscopy where medically indicated. We handle the pre-authorisation for you.
Coverage depends on your policy, the treatment approved and the insurer or TPA. Contact the Lux Hospitals insurance desk to check eligibility and understand any expected out-of-pocket cost.
This is a procedure people put off, usually because of what they imagine it involves rather than what it actually does.
Hospital stay and recovery depend on the procedure, your condition and your individual health. Some procedures may be completed as day-care treatment; others may require admission.
Before discharge, your care team will explain medicines, care at home and any follow-up appointments. Your surgeon can give you a recovery plan after assessing your condition and treatment.
