RIRS Surgery Cost at Lux Hospitals, Hyderabad

RIRS reaches a kidney stone the way the urine leaves: up through the bladder and ureter with a flexible scope, and breaks it up with a laser. There is no incision anywhere, which is what makes it the gentlest of the stone operations.

At Lux Hospitals, RIRS costs between ₹90,000 and ₹1,20,000, depending on the size, position and hardness of the stone.

  • No Incision
  • 24–48 Hour Discharge
  • Cashless Insurance

What Does RIRS Surgery Cost in Hyderabad?

One band, and the laser is most of what sits behind it. RIRS suits stones up to about two centimetres; beyond that PCNL clears them more reliably, and you will be told plainly which one your stone calls for.

What Changes an RIRS Estimate

  • Stone size, position and hardness

A soft stone in the renal pelvis fragments quickly. A hard one in a lower pole calyx takes far longer to reach and longer still to break.

  • Laser and scope time

The holmium laser fibre and the flexible scope are the expensive parts of this operation, and both scale with how long the stone takes to clear.

  • Stents, before and after

A tight ureter sometimes needs pre-stenting a fortnight beforehand, and most patients leave with a stent that is removed later. Both are part of the plan.

  • Room category

A shared ward, a twin-sharing room or a private suite: the largest single swing in most estimates, and the one thing on this list you choose rather than are assigned.

  • Surgeon and theatre time

A longer operation spends more theatre time and more of the anaesthetist’s, and a consultant with more years behind the procedure is charged at a higher rate.

  • Anaesthesia

Local, spinal or general. Which one your case needs is a clinical decision, not a preference, and it moves both the drug cost and how long you are monitored afterwards.

  • Insurance and TPA cover

We are empanelled with most major insurers and file the pre-authorisation for you, so what is left to pay yourself is known before admission rather than at discharge.

Which of these apply to you is settled at the consultation. Until a surgeon has seen you and your reports, any figure (here or anywhere else) is a range rather than your bill.

RIRS Surgery Options and Estimated Cost

Treatment option Estimated cost at Lux
RIRS Surgery ₹90,000 – ₹1,20,000

Every figure above is an indicative range, not a quote. After your consultation you are given a written, fixed-cost estimate, and that is the number you pay, with no additions once treatment begins.

What the RIRS Cost Includes

The figure quoted to you is what leaving the hospital costs, not what entering it does. Everything below is inside it.

  • The procedure itself
  • Imaging and stone analysis
  • Consultation and pre-operative tests
  • Theatre, anaesthesia and implants
  • Room and nursing care
  • Medication and dressings
  • Discharge summary and paperwork
  • Follow-up consultation

Important: Anything outside this list is told to you before it is done, not billed afterwards. If your case needs something the estimate did not allow for, you are asked first.

What Could Change the Estimate?

Your final bill may change if you need additional tests, a procedure for another condition, a longer hospital stay, extra medicines or follow-up care beyond what your estimate includes.

Ask the billing team which charges are included and which may be added based on your treatment needs.

Is RIRS Surgery Covered by Insurance?

Yes, most health insurance plans cover RIRS for kidney stones. We support cashless claims with the leading providers.

Coverage depends on your policy, the treatment approved and the insurer or TPA. Contact the Lux Hospitals insurance desk to check eligibility and understand any expected out-of-pocket cost.

Recovery After RIRS Surgery

Hospital stay and recovery depend on the procedure, your condition and your individual health. Some procedures may be completed as day-care treatment; others may require admission.

Before discharge, your care team will explain medicines, care at home and any follow-up appointments. Your surgeon can give you a recovery plan after assessing your condition and treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions About RIRS Surgery Cost

Common questions about rirs surgery, its treatment, and what it costs at Lux Hospitals.

How much does RIRS surgery cost in Hyderabad?
At Lux Hospitals it ranges from ₹90,000 to ₹1,20,000, depending on the size and location of the stone, the complexity of the procedure and the room category you choose.
Are there any hidden or extra charges?
No. You get a complete cost breakdown before treatment, and that is the figure you are billed.
Does insurance cover RIRS surgery?
Yes, most health insurance plans cover RIRS for kidney stones. We support cashless claims with the leading providers.
How long will I be in hospital?
RIRS is minimally invasive and most patients are discharged within 24 to 48 hours.
RIRS or PCNL, which should I have?
It depends almost entirely on stone size. Up to about two centimetres, RIRS clears the stone with no incision at all. Above that, PCNL achieves a stone-free result in one session where RIRS might need several.
Will I need a stent?
Usually. A stent keeps the ureter draining while any swelling settles, and it is removed at a short outpatient visit a few weeks later, which is included in the plan.
